Check Description
When creating a workorder with WPS in a plug and play setup:
• Set enableOnlineConfiguration to true, otherwise online provisioning will not be
enabled for that eNodeB by default.
Also set enableAutomaticUpgrade and enableAutomaticConfiguration to true
(see the attributes involved on the following figure).
• Set the exact name of the file containing the software to be loaded in the eNodeB
in the targetSWVersion attribute of the SoftwareControl object (same as in the
/opt/oam/lteran/data/swserver/enodebloads/ENBXXXX directory).
Refer to the Alcatel-Lucent LTE RAN, 9452 WPS User Guide, 418-000-201, for
additional information.

Functional software requirements

Purpose
The software applications provide support for the integration of the Alcatel-Lucent 9400
eNodeB.

5620 Service Aware Manager (SAM)

The Alcatel-Lucent 5620 Service Aware Manager is a single management platform
offering element, network and service management for advanced Layer 2 and Layer 3
network solutions and services based on Alcatel-Lucent's Carrier Ethernet and IP/MPLS
Service Routing portfolio.
This state-of-the-art management evolution makes it possible for service providers to
increase their level of competitiveness by excelling at streamlining network
commissioning, service activation, service troubleshooting and OSS integration to
support triple play service over a converged IP/MPLS infrastructure as well as advanced
enterprise services such as VPRN, VPLS, ATM - Frame Relay-Ethernet VPWS.
For a system overview of the 5620 SAM solution and application, refer to Alcatel-Lucent
5620 Service Aware Manager User Guide, 3HE 05618 AAAx TQZZA.

Wireless Provisioning System (WPS)

Alcatel-Lucent 9452 Wireless Provisioning System (WPS) is a high-performance tool
which provides support to design and configure Alcatel-Lucent networks. It offers a
centralized view and configuration of all Network Elements (NE) and parameters. WPS
applications can be used for configuration at every stage of a network management:
• Data engineering of a new network
• Data engineering for network expansion, densification
• Data engineering for network optimization
• Data engineering for upgrade provisioning
WPS manages configuration data coming from various sources. The file format used is
CM XML. Very large networks are supported in a workable and acceptable performances.
Additional information for WPS can be found in the following documents:
• Alcatel-Lucent LTE RAN, 9452 WPS Software Installation Procedure, 418-000-200
• Alcatel-Lucent LTE RAN, 9452 WPS User Guide, 418-000-201

Procedure 2-3: Customize the template

Purpose
This procedure is describes how to customize the Alcatel-Lucent 9400 eNodeB template
using WPS.

Procedure
Perform the following procedure to customize the Core Engineering Delivery Note
template parameters using WPS. Depending on the environment, the following
parameters need to be updated in the DATABASE file using WPS . Additional
information can be found in Core Engineering Delivery Note concerning the template
parameters.
...................................................................................................................................................................................................

1 Note: Refer to the following link for the current delivery note:
Select Program Milestones in (https://wcdma-ll.app.alcatel-lucent.com/livelink/
livelink.exe?func=ll&objId=54888147&objAction=browse&sort=name&viewType=1
).
Select the attribute and enter the appropriate parameter to customize the template
according to the Core Engineering Delivery Note recommendation.
...................................................................................................................................................................................................

2 When template is complete, save the file and export from WPS and import it back to 5620
SAM. Refer to Alcatel-Lucent LTE RAN, 9452 WPS User Guide, 418-000-201 for
instructions to export the template.
Note: It is recommended that a copy of the workorder be kept on the “local system”
even if “Live repository server” mode is used to ftp the eNodeB creation workorder to
the 5620 SAM. The workorders are located in a directory that is not backed-up,
therefore not restored by backup and recovery procedures.
...................................................................................................................................................................................................

3 Continue the procedure as follows:

• Only if the 5620 SAM server and eNodeB are on different subnets, perform
Procedure 2-4: “Establish static route for first-hop router (optional)” (p. 2-15).
• If the 5620 SAM server and eNodeB are the same subnet , perform Procedure 2-5:
“Validate, and activate eNodeB” (p. 2-17).

Procedure 2-4: Establish static route for first-hop router

(optional)
Purpose
Attention: This procedure is optional and executed only in the case when the eNodeB
and 5620 SAM server are in different subnets. Also, the 5620 SAM network address
and mask should have been added with NEM at the commissioning step (see
Alcatel-Lucent LTE RAN, Alcatel-Lucent 9400, eNodeB Commissioning Procedure,
418-000-300).
The purpose of this procedure is to establish a static route with a first hop router when the
eNodeB and 5620 SAM server are on different subnets.

Procedure
Perform the following procedure to establish a static route when the eNodeB and 5620
SAM server are on different subnets.
...................................................................................................................................................................................................

1 In the 5620 SAM, establish a static route between the 5620 SAM server and eNodeB with
the following command:
Syntax: route -p add net <Target Subnet IP where eNodeB is
connected> -netmask <netmask> <Gateway IP>,
where -p means persistency (route is kept up after reboot)
Example:

# netstat -r
Routing Table: IPv4
Destination Gateway Flags Ref Use Interface
----------------- ----------------- ----- ----- ---------- ---------
default 172.26.192.254 UG 1 13974
