The ModelBuildings.org website has a wide selection of unique international designs suitable for a range
of eras and geographical locations.
Many designs can be constructed as 3D models (with 4 sides and a roof), whilst others are designed as
space-saving “low relief” buildings suitable for positioning against backdrops to make the scene appear
more realistic and appear to stretch into the distance.
These plans are very versatile and you can use a variety of construction methods and add extra internal
support such as foam board, corflute, or card if you want.

Some of the houses in this series can be positioned together (side-by-side) to form a
semi detached dwelling. A semi-detached house is typically a single family house that
shares one common wall with the next house. Often, semi-detached houses are built
as pairs in which each house's layout is a mirror image (or close to mirror image) of
the other's. For example plans 592, 593, 594, 595 have similar roof lines so could be
joined as semi detached dwellings.

Low-relief buildings can provide amazing perspective & dimension to any

model railroad layout. They are typically 3 sided buildings (with part of the
roof visible), so as to give the illusion of being full-depth 3D buildings.
Depending on your space requirements; you can adapt them to be just
one-sided revealing only the front of the building. These structures are
commonly positioned on the horizon set against a background sky or sce-
ne, or on the outer edge of a layout.
They will provide a superbly realistic backdrop running along the edge
giving the illusion that the scene stretches further than in reality it does.
