The main objective of NCHRP Project 17-10(2) is to enhance the recentlyadopted
Standard Specifications for Structural Supports for Highway Signs, Luminaires,and
Traffic Signals
developed under Project 17-10 and to provide a strategic plan forfuture development
of the specification.The purpose of this survey is to obtain input from the state
DOTs on the specifictopics that are to be addressed by NCHRP Project 17-10(2). The
specific topics includefatigue and vibration of noncantilevered support structures,
foundations, drag coefficientsfor round and multi-sided sections, structure-
specific connection plate and base plateflatness tolerances for erection, bending
about the diagonal axis of rectangular sections,fiber-reinforced composite support
structures, design examples, and retrofit/rehabilitationfor fatigue damaged support
structures.Your response to this survey is very important to the Research Team.
