Bridge Engineering THEMED ISSUE

Information technology (IT) has enhanced our profession, enabling us to share
information rapidly to a wide geographic audience, employ more rigorous
methods of analysis, and build and maintain 3D models of complex structures.
Moreover, the UK Government Construction Strategy of May 2011 requires
fully collaborative 3D building information modelling (BIM) as a minimum on
all projects by 2016, which demonstrates the value that IT now brings to our
profession.
This call for papers is for the use of IT in bridge design and construction. Papers
may address the following, among other topics
n BIM
n rigorous methods of spatial coordination
n advanced simulation and analytical methods
n collaborative workspaces to share and develop project information

n inspection, maintenance and repair. • In addition to ICE members, our content is read by academics

The deadline for abstracts is 30th October 2015. Papers are to be
submitted by 30th January 2016. ADVOCACY

journals to all relevant audiences, at international conferences
