Colonization

Colonization is the act of settling away from one's place of origin and establishing control of the
people that were living in that area. Colonization was established in these countries solely to
provide a source of inexpensive labor and natural resources. With the introduction of
colonization in the Caribbean the islands have a depletion in their natural resources and have
been introduced to diseases that are unknown to the persons living there before settlers arrived.
Colonization is one of the factors that influence slavery in the caribbean, reason being is
because Africans and persons from Asia were brought to the Caribbean through slave trade.

Since most Caribbean countries have gained independence colonization has affected them in
other aspects. Colonization has affected the Caribbean countries when it comes to policy
making. For example, most Caribbean countries are still colonies of the british, the British play
an important role in making policies which in the end influence them to make better decisions
and live better lives. Some societies have adapted to these policies and social norms and have
made it apart of their culture.
