Dear Parents,

Tracksuits: The tracksuits are in the school, thanks to Dympna’s hard work. We would like to
have the tracksuits collected before we break for the summer holidays. If you would like to
collect the tracksuits yourself please contact the office to arrange a time and day. If you are
happy for your child to collect the tracksuit please send the payment in with your child and
we’ll give them the tracksuit.
As I mentioned in my email a few weeks ago; there was confusion over the price as the
company had issued a new price list that I missed. The trousers and tops each cost €26.50.
(The €5 charge for embroidering the crest on the tops is an extra fee but in view of my
mistake with the pricing, the school will cover this charge this year.)
If you need to check how much you owe or what you ordered give us a ring after 11:30am
and we’ll be able to check the system.

Book Bill: Thanks to those who have paid the book bill for next year. The bill this year is €56
for book rental and €9 for pupil insurance. If it suits you to pay your book bill next year that’s
absolutely fine.

Summer closing: We’ll be getting our summer holidays on Thursday 24th at 12:30pm. The
children don’t have to wear their uniforms on this day.
We will reopen on Wednesday September 1st at 9am.

Sports Day: We are hoping to have our annual Sports Day on Monday 21st June as the
Community Centre in Ardaghey. We are very grateful to Ardaghey Development Committee
for the use of the grounds and to Ardaghey Hall Committee for the use of the facilities in the
hall.
If you usually drop your child to school we would ask you to drop them to the Community
Centre on Monday. We will be asking A2B bus company to drop the children to the centre as
well. Staff will walk all the children back to the school for 1:30p.m. so everyone can be
collected at home time from the school as usual. The After School club will continue as
normal.
Children will need to have adequate sun cream applied before coming to school and bring
extra drinks, not fizzy, with them. Children do not need to wear the school uniform but should
wear suitable sports wear (e.g. shorts/leggings/t-shirt/runners)
If the weather isn’t good I will send a text either on Sunday night or early on Monday
morning and it will be a school day as usual. I will also be at the centre to tell if we need to
cancel the sports day.

 Window Box Rota: Please find enclosed the window box rota. Every family is included and
hopefully the window boxes and other plants will be blossoming to greet us in September.
School Calendar: Also attached is the school calendar for next year.

Farewell to our Sixth Class: We will be saying ‘goodbye’ to Carla, Jamie, Jason, Lucy and
Shane and we wish them all the best in the next exciting stage of their journey.
In saying goodbye to the children, we are also saying farewell to four families who have been
such an important part of our St. Michael’s family. It might be a bit frightening to think that
Kevin and Susanne’s connection with our school started 12 years ago, Aideen, Carol,
Stephen, Paul and Teresa all joined us 8 years ago. We thank the parents for all their support
over their children’s time in our school through their involvement in our PTA, After School
Club and various other initiatives.

On my own behalf and behalf of Mrs. Treanor, Mrs. Ferguson and Dympna can I take this
opportunity to sincerely thank the parents and pupils of our school for their support over the
last year.

There is no doubt that the year challenged us all and we were so fortunate to be able to count
on your enthusiastic support. Thanks to the efforts of the community of St. Michael’s I would
be confident is saying that we have managed to keep the lives of the children in school as
normal as possible.
