The Camp Nou is located in Arístides Maillol Avenue (in the district of Les Corts) and opened in 1957. The population
started calling it “Camp Nou” (“new field”, meaning “New Stadium” in Catalan) and it finally adopted officially the
name in 2001.

The Camp Nou has a capacity of 99.354 spectators. The UEFA catalogued it as the Elite category, as it
is the largest soccer stadium with more capacity of Europe and the tenth of the world.

In Camp Nou facilities can be found not only the official headquarters of the Football Club Barcelona and the
administration offices but also the museum of the Barça, this is the most visited museum of Catalonia.

In addition, this stadium is the central piece of a complex that also receives the Mini Estadi (“the tiny stadium” with
20.000 localities, where the younger teams that belong to the club play their matches), La Masia (the traditional rural
Catalan house where the youngest Barça’s players live just like Iniesta, Xavi or Messi did when they were teenagers)
and, finally, the Palau Blaugrana (a multiuse’s pavilion of 8000 spectators where other sections of the club as
basketball, handball, ice hockey or indoor soccer compete.
