Blogs Description
The eLearning Coach The eLearning Coach Blog with Connie Malamed is a great source
of information when it comes to instructional design. As a learning
experience design consultant with classroom experience, Malamed
offers plenty of strategies, tips, and product reviews for teachers to
take advantage of when designing their own classrooms. Her blog is
filled with great information on how to utilize instructional design
but with an emphasis on 21st century learning and visual design.
She also features a variety of guests in her blog who bring new
information and experiences to the table. Check out her website for
free resources including eLearning examples, glossary of online
learning terms, free templates, and so much more.

The Cool Cat Teacher Blog The Cool Cat Teacher Blog by Vicki Davis has an amazing
collection of knowledge with tons of newsletters on current trends,
tips for how to integrate technology into the classroom, resources
for just about every subject, and plenty more. With 15 years of
experience teaching in the classroom and 20 years of experience
teaching teachers how to integrate technology into their classes,
Davis has plenty of wisdom to share that is relevant and extremely
useful. She posts regularly about a wide variety of topics in
education, so there is always something new to learn.

ttc innovations The ttc innovations blog is filled with articles about instructional
design, the latest teaching innovations, and training trends. The
articles are written from a corporate viewpoint, so much of the
training is designed with adult learners in mind.

Usable Learning The Usable Learning blog is run by Julie Dirksen, a leading expert
in instructional design, eLearning, and behavior change. The blog is
filled with straightforward posts and videos with Dirksen or from
other educators.

Dangerously Irrelevant Dangerously Irrelevant is a blog run by Scott McLeod, an Associate


Professor of Educational Leadership at the University of Colorado
Denver. Highly logical and discussing multiple sources, McCleod
mostly discusses leadership and the future of schools in the 21st
century. He frequently deals with how schools are not digital, but
the world is. He is also a founding member of the Silver Lining for
Learning Podcast.

George Veletsianos, PhD George Veletsianos, PhD is a professor in the School of Education
and Technology at Royal Roads University. His blog posts offer a
Canadian view of education while encouraging improvement in
teaching when using digital learning environments.

Midnight Music The Midnight Music blog was created Katie Wardrobe, an
Australian music teacher. Her goal is to teach other teachers how to
enhance, reinforce, and improve their music class with technology
without changing the curriculum just to include technology.

Podcast Description
Silver Lining for Learning The Silver Lining for Learning podcast is hosted by six college
professors of education, five from America and one from China.
The podcast began in March of 2020 at the beginning of the
shutdowns in America due to the Covid-19 pandemic. The episodes
are recorded on Youtube Live to encourage real conversations about
the most pressing issues in education and what technological
changes could be implemented to assist in online learning. The
unique aspect about this podcast is the global conversations that
happen because of the guest speakers that are included from
countries such as Israel, China, Australia, and India.

10 Minute Teacher Podcast 10 Minute Teacher Podcast is the podcast that Vicki Davis hosts
that covers much of the same content as her blog. With each
episode only lasting 10 minutes, the short segments make for easy
lunch break (or anywhere) learning. With 741 episodes as of this
recording, there is plenty to keep new listeners busy. This podcast is
great for those who would like to read Davis’s blog posts but do not
have enough time to sit down and read them. The 10 Minute
Teacher Podcast discusses real stories and real topics for real
classrooms in bite size pieces that can be listened to anywhere.

Cult of Pedagogy The Cult of Pedagogy podcast with Jennifer Gonzales is a place for
teacher to nerd out about teaching strategies, education reform, and
technology integration. Just about every viewpoint is discussed
between Gonzales and her guests which include educators, students,
administrators and parents.

Instructional Redesign The Instructional Redesign podcast is hosted by instructional


designers Cara North and Joseph Suarez. Episodes are scripted and
last around 30 minutes, so this is a perfect podcast to learn about
instructional design without going off topic during commutes.

LearningToGo The LearningToGo blog is written by Margie Meacham, an author


and learning consultant. Her bog is filled with great articles about
the science of learning and how to use neuroscience to positively
impact learning. She also has a podcast of the same name that
covers similar topics as her blog.

Social Media Description


eLearning Industry The eLearning Industry twitter account is a great resource for
quickly finding articles that interest you. They tweet every article
that is posted on the main website which makes it easier for readers
to scroll through the archives and quickly find topics that interest
them or are relevant to them. Through their Twitter, users can also
quickly receive updates when new articles are posted or of
upcoming webinar opportunities.

Matthew Guyan (@MattGuyan) Matthew Guyan (@MattGuyan)is an instructional design specialist


from Australia who is highly active on is blog and twitter page. Not
only does he update his followers of blog posts on twitter, he also
interacts with other educators and instructional designers to share
information about free webinars, useful articles, and books.

The Techie Teacher®  The Techie Teacher® (@the_techie_teacher_) is an Instagram page


(@the_techie_teacher_) run by Julie Smith who was a teaching for 15 years and is now an
Educational Technology Consultant. Her IG (and blog) filled with
great classroom tech ideas, free templates, and giveaway
opportunities.

Instructional Design Central The Instructional Design Central (@instructionaldesigncentral)


(@instructionaldesigncentral) Instagram page offers great infographs and charts explaining
instructional design and how to successfully use it.

Powtoon (@powtoon) Powtoon (@powtoon) is a web 2.0 tool but the focus here is their
Instragram page. Here, they have tips on how to use Powtoon,
introductions to new features, and articles on different relevant
topics like visual learning.

Trends & Issues | in Instructional Trends & Issues | in Instructional Design, Educational Technology,
Design, Educational & Learning Sciences is a podcast hosted by professors Dr. Abbie
Technology, & Learning Brown and Dr. Tim Green. With weekly updates, the podcast shares
Sciences information about trends and issues in instructional design and
technology and helpful resources for listeners.

Make Moments Matter The Make Moments Matter (@makemomentsmattermusiced)


(@makemomentsmattermusiced) Instagram page was created by Davis Row, a K-5 music teacher, to
share his lesson plans, class activities, and books that he uses
successfully in his own classes (more recently during the Covid-19
pandemic).
Robert Amchin The Robert Amchin YouTube page is a great source of videos on
how to use Orff Schulwerk in elementary music classes. The songs
for the activities are folk music and encourage students to use their
energy while learning about music.
