PART 1
READ THE CASE STUDY GIVEN BELOW VERY CAREFULLY. NO NEED TO PANIC.
READ IT 2 TO 3 TIMES AND ANSWER THE QUESTIONS GIVEN AT END.

Mr. Zeeshan is an entrepreneur who founded computer craft incorporation a chain of


retail computer stores. This is the third business he has started.
He developed the concepts of his other two companies. Life mark a hospital
Management firm and Mobile Communication Corporation which is a telephone
company and then he left the execution to others.
Mr.Zeeshan decided that he wants to stay involved with computer craft incorporation.
However he did not want to be the chief executive officer (CEO).
He hired Mr. Khurram who had been the president of Life mark as President and CEO
of Computer craft. But Mr. Zeeshan who owns the majority of the stock of computer
craft and is the chairman of the board remained active in the company in as the
Executive Vice President of marketing and acquisition. Mr. Zeeshan functions as Mr.
Khurrams employer and employee.

These two men have very different personalities and business approaches. Zeeshan is
energetic and spontaneous, the type of leader who energizes those around him.
Planning and details bore him. Khurram on the other hand is a planner and organizer.
He is efficient and predictable. He wants reports in writing after the employee is sure
that the information is right. The two men complement and learn from each other.

Any new CEO leads to changes and stress in an organization. However the normal
problems were increased by the continuing presence of Zeeshan after Khurram took
over at Computer Craft.

Zeeshan is available for everyone who is unhappy about new rules or procedures and
Zeeshan and Khurram had to carefully separate the roles that Zeeshan would play in 2
different positions that of the chairman of the board and that of vice president.

After Zeeshan and Khurram were sure that they agreed on company goals and
strategies they role played a variety of different problem situations. They developed
responses that each would use in many situations.

1. What management functions are strengths for Zeeshan and for Khurram. Also
explain why?
2. Explain the types of delegation and authority problems that Zeeshan and
Khurram are likely to experience
3. Do you think that Zeeshan will be able to be in the position of Executive vice
president for a longer period of time? Why or why not?
4. Do Zeehan and Khurram differ in their levels of three management skills that
we have discussed in the course?

give opinion on 2 things keeping in view whatever we have read in
management subject.
