Lesson aims: - to review the vocabulary related to clothes;
- to recognize and recall different clothing articles, materials and weather forecasts;
- to categorize clothing items according to weather conditions;
- to practice the vocabulary and solve exercises.

Vocabulary: gloves / sweatshirt / skirt / scarf / tie / dress / jacket / suit / hat / umbrella / socks / shorts / shoes /
shirt / trousers / sandals / T-shirt, gold / silk / wool / plastic / leather / canvas / wood / metal / iron, snowy,
windy, sunny, foggy, rainy, cloudy.
Materials: digital textbook, laptop, Wi-Fi connection, YouTube videos.

Before going to class: T creates a Google document for the presentation part of the lesson. T searches for a
video with dialogues about what people wear on special occasions.
Activity 1: Lead in
Aim: To review previous knowledge of clothing items.
Time: 5 min
➢ “Clothing items - how many do you remember?” – T asks Ss to go to the Google document;
➢ T asks Ss to think about clothing items and write up to 5 in the Google document;
➢ T shows students the result and names some of the clothing items.
Possible problems: Some Ss may not know how to use the Google document.
Solutions: T repeats the instructions.
Activity 2: Presentation
Aim: T reviews the vocabulary using images of clothing items and weather conditions
Time: 15 min
➢ T shows 4 images with people wearing different clothing items according to the weather conditions and
asks Ss: “What clothing items can you see in this picture?”; “What colour is the….?”; “What’s the
weather like in this picture?”
➢ Ss give their opinion;
➢ T writes the first sentence/example on the Google document
➢ T ask Ss to with the sentences on the Google document.
Possible problems: Some Ss may not remember how to pronounce some of the words.
Solutions: Pronunciation drill.
Activity 3: Practice
Aim: to practice the new vocabulary
Time: 20 min
➢ T asks Ss to open their textbooks/digital textbooks on page 66, exercise 1;
➢ T reads the instructions and explains the task;
➢ T plays the audio material (twice if necessary);
➢ Ss listen to the dialogues.
➢ For the next exercise (exercise 2, page 66), Ss have to match the dialogues with the pictures;
➢ T allows Ss 2 minutes to solve the exercise;
➢ Ss write the answers in their notebooks;
➢ T checks the exercise by asking Ss to read their answers.
➢ For exercise 3 T asks Ss to 3 listen again the dialogues, if necessary and tick/write in their notebooks the
words they hear
➢ T checks the exercise by asking Ss to read their answers.
If time allows
➢ For the next exercise (exercise 6, page 67) T asks Ss to mark the items C for clothes, A for accessories
or F for footwear.
➢ T checks the answers by solving the exercise online.
➢ For the last exercise (exercise 8, page 67), T asks students to match the words describing materials with
the right pictures.
➢ T checks the answers by solving the exercise online.
Possible problems: Students may have difficulties in solving the exercises.
Solutions: The teacher will gently correct the mistakes and explain again the tasks they didn’t seem to
understand well.
Activity 4: Production
Aim: to demonstrate comprehension; to use the vocabulary by their own
Time: 10 min
Role Play
➢ T shows a video “What do they usually wear on special occasions?”
➢ T asks Ss to act a similar dialogue, in pairs, by asking questions like: “What do you usually wear at a
party?”, “What do you wear on Christmas Day?”, or “What do you wear at a pool party?”.
Possible problems: Some Ss may be shy and refuse to collaborate or dominant students take over the discussion.
Solutions: T must encourage all the Ss to express themselves freely.
❖ Homework: Ss have to add 5 pictures with their favourite clothes on a Google document and write sentences
describing the clothing items. The document will be uploaded on Google Classroom.
