GRIHA Pre-certification*
In accordance with the Office
Memorandum issued by the Ministry
of Environment and Forest (MoEF),
Government of India, GRIHA
pre-certification shall enable out
of turn consideration for Environmental
Clearance.All buildings including offices,
retail malls, institutions, hotels, hospitals,
health care facilities, residences, and
multi-family high-rise buildings (with the
exception of industrial complexes) in
the pre-design/design stage are eligible
for pre-certification under GRIHA.
For built up area greater than
20,000 sq. m, it is mandatory to
register the project under GRIHA
rating after pre-certification has
been awarded.
For built up area less than 20,000
sq. m, projects can be registered for
GRIHA pre-certification and GRIHA
rating at the same time.
How to register for
GRIHA Pre-certification?
Step 1: Fill the Expression of
Interest (EOI) online and submit
to GRIHA Council
Step 2: Submit the proposed
development plan for the
project and some recent date
stamped site photographs.
Step 3: GRIHA Council shall
review the application for
registering the project under
GRIHA pre-certification.
Step 4: Once approved by
GRIHA Council, the project
can proceed with payment of
fee and project registration for
GRIHA pre-certification.
*Evaluation process shall be completed within a
month by GRIHA Council; however, this is subject to
timely and proper submission by the client.
