Brown et al. (2018) claims that one of the reasons that research is conducted is to reform the

ways in which we conduct our teaching practices (p. 2). Another reason mentioned is having

answers to questions, which is crucial for teachers who encounter situations they do not know

how to deal with. Also, Kervin et al. (2016) recognises that research is a part of the teaching

practice, it is developed and honed throughout their teaching practice in order to be able to

provide students with the best learning experience (p.2). In this case, technology is being

used as an engagement tool for low SES students’ who are below average in terms of their

literacy skills; they disclose that teachers’ used technology as an addition to their lesson and

not as the sole tool throughout their lesson.
