This article describes the progressive Widening of the posterior trajectory that begins with progressive driling of the ;petrous bone (the retrosigmoid approach). Amore lateral trajectory that attacks the tumor trom a lateral (the translabyrinthine approach) and superiorinferior ap- proach (the middle fossa approach) is then described. Imaging and relevant Clinical information such as hearing status, facial nerve compromise, and tumor size are key considerations when selecting an approach to acoustic neuromas.
