IV. Conclusion

Vietjet Air is the leading low-cost airline in Vietnam. The company operates a fleet of narrow-body aircraft
serving domestic and international short-haul and long-haul flights throughout Asia. Currently, the aviation
industry in Vietnam as well as some countries around the globe is being negatively affected by COVID-19.
However, Vietnam has fully restored domestic routes and is expanding its domestic network thanks to its
success in the fight against COVID-19. Therefore, it can be believed that Vietnam's aviation industry will recover
in the near future. In the short term, Vietjet has the ability to successfully overcome the pandemic and
minimize the risk of default. In response to the global COVID-19 outbreak, VJC has implemented a series of
powerful solutions to manage cash flow and minimize bankruptcy risk.
Specifically Vietjet Air operated its first commercial flight in 2011. VJC operates under a low-cost airline business
model providing short and medium routes, domestic and international point-to-point. With the absolute
advantage of traveling by air, VJC has successfully attracted the segment of low-middle-income customers that
make up the majority of the Vietnamese population. As a result, VJC surpassed Vietnam Airlines and became the
leading airline in the domestic market (accounting for 49% of the market share in 2018). By the end of 2019, VJC
had 78 aircraft serving 44 domestic routes and 95 international routes.
