The majority of previous Filipinos believed in many gods, creatures, and spirits. They
appease them through a variety of rites, offerings, and customs. Filipinos have many
superstitious beliefs, such as those involving birth, pregnancy, and burial. The birth
practices in the Philippines are particular to Filipino culture. When I asked my mother
about her pregnancy beliefs, she told that she believes that drinking coconut water
helps them have an easy and speedy delivery.
