Road Requirement Plan- I (RRP-I):

 Govt of India introduced Road Requirement Plan (RRP-I) in Khammam district from
Telangana State to improve road connectivity in remote and interior areas.

 Under RRP-I, Twenty Three (23) road and Four (4) bridge works were taken up in the
year 2010-11 by the GoI in erstwhile Khammam district with a length of 609.2 Kms
amounting to Rs. 1211.38 Crore. All the works have been completed.
Road Connectivity Project in LWE affected Areas (RCPLWEA):

 The Cabinet Committee on Economic Affairs (CCEA), Govt of India have approved the
proposals with regard to Road Connectivity Project for Left Wing Extremism (LWE)
Affected Areas with the fund sharing pattern in the ratio of 60:40 between Centre and
State in Telangana State amount to Rs.1290.00 Crore for construction of roads in remote
and interior areas.

 In first phase (2017-18), Twenty (20) roads and Eighteen (18) bridges were sanctioned
amounting to Rs. 546.96 Crore, and all the works were let out to the Agencies. Out of
Total 451.37 Kms sanctioned length, 162.00 Kms completed in all respects, Two (2) road
works and Three (3) bridge works completed in all respects.

 In second phase (2019-20), Forty (40) roads and sixteen (16) bridges amounting to
Rs.319.69 Crore were sanctioned and Administrative Sanction by the State Government
is accorded on 14-05-2020.

 Out of Rs. 1290 crore sanctioned by GoI, road works worth Rs.546.96 crore in 1 st phase
and Rs.319.69 crore in 2nd phase were approved i.e., for a total amount of Rs.866.65
crores. For the remaining balance eligible amount of Rs. 423.35 Crore, proposal for 106
roads with a length of 453.75 km in Bhadradri Kothagudem, Jayashanker Bhupalpally,
Mulugu, Mancherial and Kumaram Bheem Asifabad was sent to MHA on 24.01.2020 by
State Govt and the Ministry has decided to consider the above Project Proposals.
 The Ministry of Rural Development informed on 01.07.2020 that the approval will be
given only after at least 90% of the earlier sanctioned works have been awarded and 50%
of these works have been completed.
