With this kind of treatment, this is kind of insulting to our ethnic groups who doesn’t

have the freedom to give time to decide if those groups would fight for their rights to claim their
heritage or not. Ancestral domains are very essential to the culture of these groups and taking it
from them is very alarming. In Section 5 in Republic Act No. 8371 Indigenous Concept of
Ownership where it states that indigenous concept of ownership sustains the view that ancestral
domains and all resources found therein shall serve as the material bases of their cultural
integrity. The indigenous concept of ownership generally holds that ancestral domains are the
ICC’s/IP’s private but community property which belongs to all generations and therefore cannot
be sold, disposed, or destroyed. It likewise covers sustainable traditional resource rights. This
means that every indigenous ownership should be steward and passed by to their future
generation because this serves as their integrity and prove their culture.

The nationalism that Bonifacio and Rizal did has its own perspective or its purpose.
However, their main goal is to make the have the independency of our fellow Filipinos. Jose
Rizal fight for his country through literature and Andres Bonifacio fight physically for his
countrymen. There is a threat for the Spaniards on the novel that Rizal wrote. It gives an awake
to Filipinos who are being slaves by the colonizers and make them realize that it’s time for us to
own our country. On the other hand, it feels sad that both of them really wants to fight for our
country, but only fellow Filipinos were the ones who betray us. That is one problem that even
until now we are still facing to.

The government cultivate the ancestral domains by letting their culture be acknowledge
to the community and society. This makes the people around the nation so that if ever people or
companies would take advantage of them, then we can fight for them. With the steps that the
government made or their solutions, I guess there should be more programs or solutions should
be made to them because some of their ancestral domains are taken to them forcefully.
Sometimes, they tend to get their attention and manipulate them just because they don’t have
enough knowledge to some things.
