0 Theories Doctrine

The Khawarij are a long-established Shiite group. At the time of Rasulullah S.A.W
again this group already existed but still not openly. They also before their official
appearance had responded to a series of slanders and crimes such as the assassination of
Caliph Uthman bin Affan radiallahuanhu. After Uthman was killed, they then hid into the
forces and supporters of Ali bin Abi Tolib to use themselves read and killed by Muawiyah
radiallahuanhu who had family ties with Caliph Uthman bin Affan. This group was called
Khawarij because they had come out (khuruj) against Saidina ‘Ali. Originally they had a
close relationship with Saidina‘Ali because they were a group of Muslims who initially
supported him. But later they rejected Ali's leadership because they did not agree with his
decision regarding the Arbitration Council. Khawarij among scholars carries the meaning of
anyone who armed opposes the true leader agreed upon by the Muslims either in the time of
the Companions or in later times. The characteristic of the Khawarij group is that they have
the values of extremism as stated by Rasulullah s.a.w. Among them are those who are
extreme in worship by leaving the aspect of the understanding. The Prophet s.a.w. stated:

...‫فإن له أصحابا يحقر أحدكم صالته مع صالتهم وصيامه مع صيامهم يفرؤن القرآن ال‬
‫يجاوز تراقيهم‬...
He has a group whose prayers of yours cannot match theirs, nor your fast with their fasts.
They recite the Qur'an but do not go beyond their necks.

This has shown that the Khawarij group strayed from the path of Islam because has an
understanding that is far from the understanding of Islam guided by the Qur'an and the
Sunnah. The understanding of the khawarij who inflict punishment on a person or mislead a
person when someone does not want to follow their group. Other than that, the Kharijites are
characterized by the ideology of struggle which is broadly commonly demonstrated with
efforts to overthrow power from a legitimate ruler because it is considered to have violated
the lines of God's law, and therefore, that ruler sentenced to infidel punishment to be fought.
Khawarij thought This is about the slogan, la Hukma illa lillah (no verdict law except the
verdict of the law that comes from God)
3.1 Thought of Khawarij

There are several people in the Kharijite thought group identified. They consist of
Abdul Malik ibn Marwan, Al-Azariqah, Al-Najdat, was the follower of Najdah ibn Amir al-
Hanafi from Yamamah, Al-Ajaridah, which was more flexible if compared to the other clan,
Al-Sufriyah and Al-Ibadiyah, which was led by Abdullah ibn Ibad At-Tamimy, which is 686
Century separated itself from Al-Azariqah.

3.1.1Thought of Abduk Malik ibn Marwan

At the time of Abdul Malik ibn Marwan power, they commenced blending the
doctrine with theological discussion. Khawarij clan commenced to talk about on
‘faith’, that deed is part of faith. Faith is now no longer simplest the intention (i’tiqad)
with heart, however definitely with heart, oral, and action. Therefore, eventually the
Khawarij clan, further to as having been mentioned, turned separated into numerous
clans.

3.1.2 Thought of Al- Azariqah

As of the follower of Nafi ’ibn Al-Azraq. They had been the various others

3.1.3 Thought of Al-Najdat

did not know. Outside of the clan, people were still tormented, but not in hell, and
eventually they entered heaven.
 3.1.4 Thought of Al-Ajaridah

The clan led by Abd al-Karim ibn Ajrad believed that migrating was not a
necessity, but rather a pleasant thing to do. Next, it refused to accept Yusuf's passage
in the Qur'an, claiming that the holy book couldn't contain romantic stories.

3.1.5 Thought of Al-Sufriyah

This clan was commanded by Ziad ibn alAsfar, and it was on a comparable
level to the clan of al-Azariqah, although there were a few differences, such as:
People of the Sufriyah who do not migrate are not unbelievers. The children of
Idolater must not be killed. Major sins, like as murder and fornication, are only
sanctioned in the world and are not considered unbelievers. While abandoning prayer
and fasting is a serious sin, it will be sanctioned in the eternal state, and they will be
labeled as unbelievers.

3.1.6 Thought of Al-Ibadiyah

According to this clan, they are allowed to marry anybody who is not a
Khawarij, as long as they inherit each other even if they marry someone from a
different stream, and they are more friendly to their surroundings. It shall not go to
war with non-Khawarij unless a declaration of war is made. Making a big sin is not
considered to be against Islam teaching; they are only allowed to seize horses and
weapons in a fight, while money and silver are forbidden.

Such thoughts can cause many Muslims to deviate and unknowingly leave Islam. This
thought is a thought made using the logic of reason but not guided by the Qur'an and the
Sunnah.
3.2 IMPLICATIONS OF KHAWARIJ

The Khawarij group that was formed has had a very bad effect, especially on the
Muslims. This is said so because this group drops the law on a person and disbelieves him
according to lust alone. The issue of recklessly passing laws and the issue of infidels is very
serious because it gives great influence to Muslims. As in Malaysia, there is a culture of
slander that is practiced because one feels always pure. The issue of disbelieving someone
brought by the Khawarij can damage the faith, practices, and morals of Muslims.

The effect of this Khawarij thinking will damage the thinking of Muslims, especially
young people. This is said so because their hearts are still pure and need guidance from older
people. When from childhood absorbed with thoughts based on lust this can cause one's faith
to deviate from Islam. When this happen, it will indirectly cause them to do things that
actually cause sin but are made to be non -sinful. They have been misled by a shallow
understanding of Islam.

ٌ ‫ َف َما َج َزا ُء َمن َي ْف َع ُل ٰ َذل َِك مِن ُك ْم إِاَّل ِخ ْز‬  ۚ‫ض‬

ٍ ْ‫ُون ِب َبع‬ ِ ‫ض ْال ِك َتا‬ ِ ْ‫ون ِب َبع‬ َ ‫أَ َف ُت ْؤ ِم ُن‬
ِ ‫ون إِ َل ٰى أَ َش ِّد ْال َع َذا‬
َ ُ‫ َو َما اللَّـ ُه ِب َغاف ٍِل َعمَّا َتعْ َمل‬  ۗ‫ب‬
‫ون‬ َ ‫ َو َي ْو َم ْال ِق َيا َم ِة ي َُر ُّد‬  ۖ‫فِي ْال َح َيا ِة ال ُّد ْن َيا‬

Do you believe in a part of the Scripture and reject the rest? 92 What else, then, could be the
retribution of those among you who do this than that they should live in degradation in the
present life, and that on the Day of Resurrection they should be sent to the severest
chastisement? Allah is not heedless of what you do.
Surah Al-Baqarah(85)

Based on the verses of the Qur'an above, has explained the characteristics of this
group who like to take some religions and leave some other religions. This clearly shows that
the Khawarij people like to inflict punishment and disbelieve anyone who does not want to
join their group. So as a Muslim, one must always be careful not to deviate from Islam.
Conclusion

As far as we know, the Khawarij have no place in Islamic beliefs. In the guise of
religion, they perpetrate numerous heresies. The Khawarij possessed ideas, philosophies, and
severe heresy, according to history. In recent years, the seeds of the Khawarij have resurfaced
in a number of Muslim nations. Such occurrences must be avoided by Muslims. So that
individuals with a sliver of information may recognise the nature of the problem, determine if
the legislation is valid, and discriminate between comprehensible errors and unexplained
errors, in example, errors based on heretical ideas. Heresy relating to the problem of Muslim
unbelief, the legality of their blood, property, and bodies in particular.

As in the case of Malaysia's political predicament, when politicians refuse to believe

one other. The result of this scepticism has prompted debate among politicians, who are all
talking about it. Each side despises the other equally. The issue of disbelief brought by the
Khawarij is a big issue, this is because the term kafir is a highly hazardous word, and
although if a Muslim has the right to say it to others, he should be cautious before doing so
because of the harm the word brings to the one who speaks and is spoken to in this world and
the hereafter. In order to develop a technique or facts of syari'e that must be maintained in
mind, we must consult texts from the Qur'an and Sunnah.

Nowdays, in this the name of the Khawarij group is obviously outdated. This is due to
the fact that no one, individual or organisation, now claims to have chosen the Kharijites.
However, hadith scriptures imply that the group's traits will continue to exist till the end of
time.
