PRESENT TENSE

PRESENT SIMPLE

FORMATION:
Subject+1st form of verb + object

 If the subject is he/she/it (singular) we add “s” in the verb.


 We use “do” and “does” as helping verb.
 With he/she/it we always use “does not” to make sentence NEGATIVE.
 When using “does not” in a sentence, “s” is omitted from the verb.
 with other subjects, (plural) we use “do not” as helping verb.
 In INTERROGATIV sentences, we use DOES and DO as question word.
EXAMPLES:

She speaks the truth.(affirmative sentence)


She does not speak the truth.(negative sentence)
Does she speak the truth?(interrogative sentence)

We live in this house.(affirmative sentence)


We do not live in this house.(negative sentence)
Do we live in this house.(interrogative sentence)
PRESENT CONTINUOUS

Formation:
sub +is/am/are +verb adding ” ing” + object
with he/she/it or singular nouns IS
With I we use AM
With we/you/they or plural nouns ARE

EXAMPLES:

I am learning m lesson.
Thy are going home today.
He is swimming in the pool.
PRESENT PERFECT

FORMATION
Sub + has/have+3rd form of verb + object
With he/she/it or singular nouns HAS
With I/we/you/they or plural nouns HAVE

EXAMPLES

The policeman has caught the thief.


You have seen everything with your own eyes.
He has locked the door.
You have broken her toys.
