Conclusion: E-tailing is having a huge impact on retailing now-a-days.

The price of various


commodities is comparatively high in online, the retailers also know about this fact. So,
sometimes, the retailers also ask for high prices knowing people buy the same things from
online paying extra money. Customers now have greater sovereignty because now they have a
pretty large pool to choose their products from. They can also order customized products from
online shops. So, the product variation, product quality and price of the products all of these are
on the up now. This increase of the price of the products is not bad for all sectors. Because with
the increased price, the competition is also higher. Suppliers whether they are e-tailers or
retailers, they have to offer the best product at that price. Otherwise, they will be out of the
market. Now-a-days, there is also a tendency of joint venture between the E-commerce shops.
They tend to interact with one another and produce better and improved products. Because,
most of the E-commerce sellers are young entrepreneurs. They tend to experiment and make
positive changes to their products. The one positive thing from E-commerce sites is that they
give bulk discounts during various festivals in our country. Whereas in retail markets there is
hardly any discount. Moreover the price of the retailers is comparatively high in Bangladesh
during festive seasons. When the pandemic started, people had to stay in their houses. So,
online sales grew a lot after the pandemic. People buy all sorts of products like groceries to
gadgets from e-tailers. But there is some discomfort among the buyers is that sometimes they
do not get the same products what they are shown online. People are also relatively busy now-
a-days. They do not want to go to the markets or bazars, hassle with the sellers and buy things.
They want to see every product on their phone or laptop and buy the products with a click. But
there is also some misuse of online shops. There is always some online frauds who take money
beforehand and do not deliver the expected product. Conventional stores are also following the
online sellers now. They also open up a website, display all their products there and deliver
them to their client’s house. Customers who are habituated to online shopping do not want to
take the effort to go to conventional stores now-a-days. They want to get their products
delivered to their doorsteps.

E-tailing will grow more and more in the future. This study was now the purchasing pattern was
shifted towards E-tailing. Certain strategies need to be taken by retailers to gain back the
customer’s trust. Retailers can associate with some of the trusted e-tailers. Overall, building a
bond with the customers and gaining their trust is the way forward for both the e-tailers and
retailers.
