Idea of new business which I want to start:

Business :
A business is referred to the organized efforts and activities of individual to produce and sell
goods for the profit. Any legal entity or work which we done for the earn of profit is called business.

Types of business :
1. Sole proprietorship:

5. Limited liability company
6. Nonprofit organization
7. Cooperative

I want to start sole proprietorship in future because it is the simplest type of business and this business is
owned and operated by a single person and he is the responsible for the profit and loss of the business.
My idea for new business

Dairy farm
Alhamdulillah’s Pakistan is a land where every business has a potential to succeed .
Agriculture is the largest sector of Pakistan having a percentage of more then 20% of GDP and accounts
for more then 40% of the total labor force.

Livestock is the largest of the various agriculture sub sector, holding enormous potential for DAIRY
business. Pakistan is 4th largest producer of the milk in the world with a total production of 28 billion
litters of milk a year. There is an information gap between the stake holders of the business due to
which the importance and potential of the business has not been properly realized by entrepreneurs
particularly small and medium enterprises.

How to start a dairy business

Before starting a dairy business . it is highly recommended to survey the market and work for an
established dairy business to understand the whole process the business . an efficient dairy farm
depends mainly upon the animals usually BUFFALOS AND COWS and land. T0 minimize expense one can
get rented land and buy used equipment’s.

However if the quality of the livestock is poor ,continues rebuilding of milk producing herds will occur-an
ultimate and costly exercise.

Also the initial cost can be reduced by utilizing existing infrastructure.

After surveying the markets, location should be selected from where one can buy animals and chara.
Inner Punjab has low prices as compared to other areas.

Proper water reservoirs are very important to setup a dairy farm.

Govt of Pakistan facilitate the 70% expenses for reservoirs.

 Major requirements:

1. Shed :
A proper shed will be required with its surrounding infrastructure. One can make
different styles of shed depending upon the requirements and animal capacity.

2. land:
a land about 50 kanals would be required which would be include the shed, proper
arrangement of water and area to dump and to grow chara.

3. Employees:
An average one worker is required for 10 animals and one cleaner require for
area so, an average 3 person are required for 20 animals depending upon the owner.

4. Marketing:
Before the start of the business , it would be a mistake not to survey the market.
As mentioned , land should be near the shed, and if not different buyers should be identified who
require a constant supply of milk.

5. Animals :
For a start, it is recommended to have at least 20 animals.
