INSTRUCTION GUIDE
Procedures for New Epson Printheads
It is imperative that when installing any new Epson printheads into a printer that the procedures outlined in this
document are followed. Not following the procedures could result in damage and quality issues with the printhead.

There is a storage fluid inside the new printheads that is not compatible with standard Eco-solvent cleaning solutions.

New print head replacement principles

When unpacking a new print head please note the following:
1.1 Be careful not to touch the faceplate as this could damage the nozzles
1.2 Ensure the following precautions are taken
1.2.1 It is critical to use high-quality filters for the following process.
1.2.2 It is recommended to use a small syringe as it is easier to regulate the pressure, do not over pressure the syringe.
The use of a syringe without a silicone rubber plunger is strongly advised.
1.2.3 Applying too much pressure will damage the print head.
1.2.4 If working with a DX6 printhead it will be impossible to purge through a damper. In this case the use of a syringe
disk filter is imperative.

1.3.1 Syringe (5 to 25ml) without any rubber plunger (Latex Free)
