To express sentences in simple past, the following structure is

used:

Affirmative statements
Subject+ verb (on past tense) + complement
For example:
➢ I went to cinema.
➢ She bought a new car.
➢ We found a snake.
➢ They had a meeting last week.
➢ He run for the evening.

Negative statements
Subject+ didnot/ didn’t+ verb (normal) + complement
For example:
➢ They didn’t the homework.
➢ She didn’t work today.
➢ I didn’t play videogames.
➢ Jaqueline didn’t bring the table.
➢ Pablo didn’t do his homework.

Interrogative statements

Did + subject + verb + complement interrogative( ?)

For example

➢ Did I sow avocado seeds?


➢ Did you play soccer yesterday?
➢ Did the miss decide apply math exam?
➢ Did you find a bunny?
➢ Did you watch that movie?

Interrogative statements
Was/were + subject + complement interrogative (?)
For example

➢ Were we drunk?
➢ Were the papers on the table?
➢ Was the fruit rotten?
➢ Was she in home?
