world. In its geography the Great North and the South zone are distinguished, which constitutes an eighth of the territory, and which extends for several thousand kilometers along the border with the US. The South is the cultivated area where most of the of the most important inhabitants and cities: Toronto (capital of Ontario), Montreal and Québec (in Québec), Vancouver (in British Columbia), Calgary (in Alberta), Winnipeg (in Manitoba), and finally Ottawa, the capital federal, on the banks of the Ottawa River, between Ontario and Québec, which is considered the second coldest capital - after Ulan Bator - in the world. • Canada is in a northern and very cold area. As a consequence, the general climatic conditions are WEATHER extremely cold in the northern regions and slightly more moderate temperatures in the southern region. The high latitudes, lack of mountains to shield polar air masses, and cold currents are the main factors that influence the climate. • The estimated population of Canada is 38,008,005 inhabitants based on October 2020 data from the Canadian Institute of Statistics, with a density of almost 4 inhabitants per km2. Canada is a multiracial and multilingual country, in which it is encouraged that the different groups that compose maintain their own culture, POPULATION language and tradition. In its origin, Canada, as a British and French colony, was populated by citizens of both countries. At present, it can be said that 32.5% of the population is of British origin, 13.6% of French origin, 9.6% of French origin.
