3. Change the IP-address of your laptop

3.1 change IP: Start -> Settings -> Network connection ->LAN Connection
3.2 use the properties
3.3 chose the Internet protocol (TCP/IP), and change with properties
3.4 change the IP-address to 10.xx.yy.xx: xx.yy Powitec set as project-ID (see label on camera or contact Powitec), xx in
range of 4-254 , Powitec set 1 - Server, 2 - BL-Camera, 3- MIPM.
3.5 click "OK" and "close"
4. Start a terminal

4.1 open the command line Start->Program -> Extra -> Command line. Or Start -> Run -> cmd
4.2 try to reach the camera with the command ping 10.xx.yy.2. If you can reach the camera go to 4.3 . Otherwise make sure
that you are using a crossover cable or repeat steps 2 & 3
4.3 Connect to the camera with the command telnet 10.xx.yy.2 (by necessary login use login: root, password: root)
5. Start the program mvstest use /flash/mvstest/mvserver/mvstest on the command line. The program answers with mvserver
"listen to Port 10000"

Alarm System
 Power Supply 1 16 19 20

The power supply units are monitored by an alarm system. If one has a problem
or damage the system signalizes an alarm by LED and sound. *
 HDD (Raid controller) 21
The RAID controller monitors the function and availability of the harddisks. If one
disk has a problem or a damage the system signalizes an alarm by LED and
sound. It also signalizes an alarm in case of removing one. *
 Fan 18
The fans inside the chassis are monitored by an alarm system. If one fan has a
problem or a damage the system signalizes an alarm by LED and sound. It also
signalizes the alarm in case of removing one. *
 Temperature
17
The system is equipped with a monitoring system for the temperature inside the
HDD chassis and the IPC chassis. If one of them measures high temperature the
system signalizes an alarm by LED and sound. *
* How to handle the system in case of a alarm/fault – see FAQ

Maintenance
 Cleaning filter elements
In the front door a filter pad protects the HDD shuttle and the ventilation opening
against dust. The pad has to be cleaned in a circle of ~1 month.

Date of issue: 21. April 2008 File: M:\powitec\projects\1071_Ari\docu\Powitec_Schulung_Hardware_server_01.odp Version: 0.1
