2. Agricultural Produce
Marketing
- Agricultural marketing still
continues to be in bad shape
in the Philippines. In the
absence of sound marketing
facilities, the farmers have to
depend upon local traders
and middlemen for the
disposal of their farm
produce which is sold at
throw-away price. In most
cases, these farmers are
forced, under socio-economic
conditions, to carry on
distress sale of their produce.
In most of the small villages,
the farmers sell their produce
to the moneylender from
whom they usually borrow.
In the absence of an
organized marketing
structure, private traders and
middlemen dominate the
marketing and trading of
agricultural produce. The
remuneration of the services
provided by the middlemen
increases the load on the
consumer, although the
producer does not derive
similar benefit money.
BUSINESS IDEA WHO WILL BE
Philippines' primary source
of livelihood is mainly
through farming or
agriculture. Since the Covid-
19 pandemic arose,
considering the new normal,
myriads of businesses have
gone to online marketing,
and the farmers are left
behind. We have come to the
idea of marketing the
agricultural produce of the
farmers locally to improve
their sales and growth by
adopting the concept of
dropshipping, wherein we
were to create an online
platform for marketing the
products of the Filipino
farmers online.
BENEFITED BY THE
BUSINESS IDEA
Firstly, the farmers, since
the various products of the
different farmers in several
places are listed to an online
platform with a dropshipping
concept, it will easily be
marketed online and make it
known to the mass. They
won't have to drop the prices
of their products to like what
the other middleman does for
their own benefits. This will
bring back their capital and
accumulate profits from the
fair prices of their produced
products.
Secondly, retailers, for
easier accessibility to the
products directly from the
farmers to ensure the quality
of the products which
retailers will be sold to the
consumers.
