PART :1

The lesson that I’ve learned in life and story of Rizal in Chapter 12,
Hongkong, Macao, and Japan. (Report of Ms. Arjane Ewa) Five o'clock pm
Friday when Rizal departed leaving Manila. On February 3, 1888 Rizal left
manila for Hong Kong on board the Zafiro. They made a stopover at Amoy
but Rizal didn’t get off his ship because of three reason first he was not
feeling well, second it was raining hard and third was he heard that the city
was dirty. He arrived in Hong Kong on February 8. He was accompanied by
his brother-in-law and cousins. He dined in at the Victoria Hotel of
Hongkong. Saturday where the Chinese festival begins. Rizal enjoy and have
a great fun and memories during the festival. Visiting protestant, catholic and
Muslim cemeteries, monuments, American ship oceanic, and watch Chinese
theat. They spent their days visiting Mr. Balbino but they didn't find him.
They eat and then drink some Chinese food there. The lauriat party, wherein
the guests were served a variety of dishes, shows lavishness and hospitality
among the Chinese. The celebration of the Chinese New Year was quite very
noisy due to the continuous explosion of firecrackers on the streets. February
18, Rizal went to Macao. Rizal described Macao as a small, low and gloomy
city. There are many junks, sampans, but few steamers. It looks sad and is
almost dead. He stayed at Don Francisco Lecaros. From Hongkong to Macao
they board on the Kiu-Kiang, a white boat. There was a gentleman, a Filipino
who married a Portuguese woman who welcomed Rizal very well. Rizal
visited theater, casino following his days a stroll to the city. Visiting churches
and grotto. And the following day they left on the same boat from Hongkong
to Japan. This was the period when Rizal met O-Sei-San, one of his 9 ladies.
