Augumented Reality

Introduction
Augumented Reality
• AR is a technology that superimposes a computer-generated image on a
user's view of the real world by using the device camera & computer vision
based recognition algorithms.
Types of AR
• Marker-Based Augmented Reality
• Marker-less Augmented Reality
• Projection Augmented Reality
• Superimposition Based Augmented Reality
AR SDKs
• An augmented reality SDK (software development kit) is the core
technological software engine that powers the development and creation of
new AR apps and experiences. The role of the AR SDK is to perform the
non-trivial task of fusing digital content and information with the real world.

Ex : ARKit, ARCore, AR Foundation, Vuforia, Wikitude, 8th Wall,

EasyAR, DeepAR.
AR Core

• ARCore is a software development kit developed by Google that allows

for augmented reality applications to be build. ARCore is mainly used to
develop and Build AR Apps for Andriod devices
AR Kit
• ARKit is Apple's augmented reality (AR) development platform for iOS mobile
devices. ARKit SDK allows developers to build high-detail AR experiences for
iPad and iPhone.
AR Development Basics
• AR SDK uses three key technologies to integrate virtual content with the real
world as seen through your phone's camera:

1. Motion tracking - allows the phone to understand and track its position relative to
the world.
2. Environmental understanding - allows the phone to detect the size and location of
flat horizontal surfaces like the ground or a coffee table.
3. Light estimation - allows the phone to estimate the environment's current lighting
conditions.
