Guidelines for the Preparation of B.E Seminar Reports

1. Seminar report should be typed (Times New Roman style) neatly on one side of the
paper with 1.5 line spacing on a A4 size bond paper. The margins should be: Left-1.25”,
Right-1” and Bottom- 0.75” .
2. The total number of copies of the seminar report to be prepared are
One copy to the candidate.
One hard & soft copy to the Project Guides.
3. Before taking the final printout, the approval of the concerned guide(s) is mandatory
and suggested corrections, if any must be incorporated.
4. Seminar Report- student is required to write a conclusion about the seminar. The report
should consist of 20 to 25 single side pages describing the topic selected. The report
should be in the format as described below. It is important that you adhere to these
guidelines.

 ARRANGEMENT OF CONTENTS:
The sequence in which the seminar report material should be arranged and bound
should be as follows:
1. Cover Page & Title Page
2. Abstract
4. Table of Contents
5. Acknowledgment
6. Chapters
7. Appendices
8. References

5. The organization of the report should be as follows.
 Outer title page
 Inner title page
 Certificate in the format enclosed
 Acknowledgments
 Abstract or Synopsis
 Table of contents
 List of tables and figures
 Reference: The references should be numbered in alphabetical order of the first
author. The section on references should list them in serial order in the following
format.
1. Al-Sanad, H.A., Eid, W.K. and Ismael, N.F. (1995). “Geotechnical Properties of
Oil-Contaminated Kuwaiti Sand,” Jl. of Geotechnical Engineering,Vol.7, pp407-
412.
2. Oppenheim, A.V. and Schafer, R. W.(1975) “Digital Signal Processing”,
N.J: Prentice Hall, 3rd Edition.

 Separator sheets should not be used between the chapters.
 At the bottom of all the pages starting from chapter-1 to last chapter, a footer line
indicating department and college name should be typed.
 Pages are numbered at right bottom corner.
 All printing should be in black colour letters only.
 The reports should be spiral binding.
