While the Internet has changed the world with online knowledge, communication, and collaboration, it has

also introduced online addiction. Computer addiction can be severe with tragic outcomes. Most governments
and organizations are yet to recognize the severity of online game addicts as they recognize that this is a dire
societal issue that requires action to curtail before it erupts into a massive issue. This present evidence
suggesting that online game addiction is an issue that should be considered by governments everywhere and
that information systems researchers can play an important role in analyzing the impacts of government
regulation of online addiction and shaping regulation improvements.
As the population of computer or internet users grows in the country, the number of individuals who
become addicted to the internet can only grow. To curb the problem of computer / internet addiction before it
comes to fruition, the government should implement policies. The country should adopt policies towards
internet addiction, as it poses a great risk to the wellbeing of the entire population. With this come several
questions regarding who has the responsibility of enforcing access limitations and restrictions, and what actions
