Online-Einstufungstest Deutsch als Fremdsprache (onSET)

„Schritt für Schritt“ - Anleitung

Dear international students,

In order to attend a language course at the appropriate level, you need to take a placement test autonomously. To
take the test, please visit: https://www.onset.de

Follow the registration and participation instructions and take the test. The test takes about 45 minutes in total.

Please notice the individual steps below:

1. Go to https://www.onset.de

2. Click REGISTER (top right) and enter your personal information. Required fields are indicated by *. Click
CONTINUE.

3. Choose and enter a personal username and password. You can choose the name and the password freely. The
password must consist of at least eight characters (two of them have to be numbers, for example, daf28rub). Click
CONTINUE.

4. Review the data that you see on the screen. Click SEND DATA.

5. Click BOOK A TEST.

6. Click NEXT.

7. Choose "Germany" as country, "Bochum" as place and "Ruhr-Universität Bochum" as a test center. Click
CONTINUE.

8. Enter a TAN, please. Your TAN is this number: xxxxx.

Enter this TAN and click Next.

9. Select the test "onSET-Deutsch".

10. Click NEXT.

11. Click COMPLETE BOOKING. You will then be automatically logged out.

12. Log in again with user name and password.

13. Click PARTICIPATE, then click HERE.

14. Read the "Test Instructions". As soon as you click START TEST, the time starts to run!

15. Perform the test.

16. After the last text (text 8) you will see your personal placement result. This result will be transferred directly to
us.

17. Click COMPLETE TEST.
