Certification

More than 35,000 welding inspectors worldwide are certified by AWS. In Saudi Arabia, a qualified
candidate can take an exam to become an AWS Certified Welding Inspector (CWI) by taking an
examination at an authorized international agent. The examination is given in three parts. There is a written
test in welding fundamentals, a practical exam utilizing inspection tools to work with weld specimens, and
an open-book written exam on applying your choice of seven welding code books.
