 Identify and describe the emotions associated with the three different stages of the friend-o-meter.

Time: Motivation and Introduction:
1. Put on four different songs, get students to close their eyes
and think about what they see and how they feel in these
different areas.

2. Show the students the Zone of Regulations and the Friend-o-
metre ask students what they believe is similar about the two
posters.

1. When we are having a friendship trouble what zone are you in.
Explain that this is similar to the friend-o-meter, when we are Friend-o-meter poster.

the emotion they are feeling and what they did to solve the
problem.
4. Get students to go into three groups and get them to draw and
write what are some emotions and actions that might occur in Coloured paper.

5. Bring students back to share their ideas about what happens
in each section of the friend-o-meter.
6. Have a chat about friendship fires. Ask students where they
think it sits on the friend-o-metre. What are some strategies to
help this friendship fire.
