CHANGES TO XGUILDRAIDS.

COM
Thanks again for all your hard work. Here’s a comprehensive list of changes, split into design changes (those
affecting look split off from those to make the UI more intuitive) and functionality changes. All changes are marked
with 1 to 3 s, to indicate priority, with more s indicating more critical changes. Obviously, some changes are
depending on other changes, but this is to assist with prioritization, rather than just knocking out low-hanging fruit
first.

D ESIGN

L OOK AND FEEL

Header () – change to logo Tia and Kal were working on. CrossRoads in a strong sans-serif font in white over
dark background, with a transition to a blue background. See mockups at end.

Color scheme () – Change to Blue on white base (http://colorschemedesigner.com/#3B11ztZvvLtTG) –

Remainder of page extends the blue from the header, with modules (including the center column) using a white or
very light blue background, black or very dark blue text, and dark blue 2-3px border.

Highlight text should be blue (on white), with links appearing as medium blue with a solid underline (unvisited) and
dark blue with a solid underline (visited).

Keep user names in the same item color scheme – purple and blue will work better on a white background. May
have to choose a darker orange for admin.

Background () – Remove image background, replace with solid color, or very faint design.

Forums () – Increase width of left column of each forum post to 150 px (from 141 px) to allow avatars to appear
in full.

Buttons on the forums should be blue with white text. Please increase size of buttons below each post (edit, quote,
etc) by 50%.

It appears that on some thread, the bottom padding of the footer in the forums is about 100px, while in other
threads, it’s a more normal amount (these are both in Chrome on Vista):

http://www.xguildraids.com/index.php?t=118&jfile=viewtopic.php&option=com_jfusion&Itemid=2

The area under the breadcrumbs seems to behave similarly.

DKP () – Style similar to remainder of site, once new design is implemented

Raids/Calendar () – Style similar to remainder of site, once new design is implemented – in particular, remove
double-reversed type in raid description:
Remove logo on calendar.

U SABILITY

Font () – Continue to use sans-serif throughout. Change order of preferred fonts to Arial, Helvetica, Verdana,
sans-serif; Verdana’s bold just isn’t bold enough. Change use of all caps to small caps for easier skimming.

Related, please increase the size of the copy on the homepage news to the same as in the forums.

Increase line spacing by 5-10% throughout the forums.

Reduce margin below quotes in the forums to 30% of current margin.

Recruitment Status () – Replace classes with four options: Tank, Healer, Melee DPS, Ranged DPS. In the era of
homogenized buffs and “bring the player, not the class,” I don’t think that exact classes are as relevant – while I’d
like a moonkin, I wouldn’t want to scare away a shadow priest or warlock, who bring most of the same
functionality; this is especially the case since we run 25’s and have massive buff overlapping coverage.

Move this module to the right column, under progression but above WoL, to make room for new modules

Who’s Online () - Swap with “Latest Posts” Module – will be at the bottom of this column

F UNCTIONALITY

Forums () – Move search box to the top right corner of the wrapper, unless that would cause some iframe issues.

Add Current DKP, Most Recent Raid to forum “avatar,” under post count and “joined.”
Screenshots () – Change to Flickr module, allow members to upload pictures with the tag “xguildraids,” then pull
in everything with that tag.

Calendar () – Remove ability of raiders to sign up as “confirmed” (this may already be done – just remember
someone doing it last week or two)

Roster () – Rank 3 (raider) seems to be missing – I know you had some thoughts on how to redo this – here’s
what I was thinking:

Show a list of everyone at rank 1, 2, 3, and 5(?) – GM, Officer, Raider, Recruit. Each line includes name, class, main
spec, off-spec, professions, current DKP, total raids with Crossroads (for which DKP was input) and last raid with
Crossroads (again, from DKP). At the end of each column are three icons – one for Armory, one for DKP history,
and one for forum profile.

Now, that’s what I’d like – I’m not sure if it’s possible, but figured I’d start from there and we can kick it around – I
know, at minimum, there’s an issue where you’re trying to tap into multiple databases to build one GridView.

Latest Posts Module () – Set to go to most recent post, or most recent page, at least. It was doing this for a
while, but reverted back to bad behavior again.

Recruitment Status Module () – add link to application in this module

Progression Module () – Switch to “by kills” instead of “by achievement” – I know there’s still some weirdness
here with our 25-rank being off – I think Tex is on that.

Menu () – Please add “Apply” with a link that goes to the Applications Forum

*New* DKP Module () – Include in left column for logged in members, above “Who’s Online.” Would show
current DKP, last raid’s net change, and last item won. If that item linked to WoWhead, it’d be awesome, but I
don’t think that exists in EQDKP at this point.

*New* Calendar Module () – Include in left column for logged in members, above “Latest Posts” Provides a
snapshot of the next raid for logged in members – raiders can see their signup status for the next raid and edit it
(hopefully, this will make it easier for people to see that they’re not registered, one of our biggest problems!).
