Claim: My answer to the question is the virus hijacks your healthy cells and takes command and
eventually kills it.

surface proteins to receptors on healthy cells, especially those in your lungs. Once inside, the
coronavirus hijacks healthy cells and takes command. Eventually, it kills some of the healthy cells.”

Evidence: The statement in the article that support my answer is “Within 2 to 14 days, your immune
system may respond with symptoms such as fever, diarrhea, cough, sore throat, loss of taste and smell.
The virus moves down your respiratory system. That’s the airway that includes your mouth, nose,
throat, and lungs.”

Reasoning: The evidence I chose supports my answer because it tells us the early symptoms caused by
the virus and what part of our body is affected the most by these symptoms.

Question No. 6

Claim: My answer to the question is the blood can’t supply the organs with enough oxygen to survive.

Evidence: The statement in the article that support my answer is “As the fluid collects in your lungs, they
carry less oxygen to your blood. That means your blood may not supply your organs with enough oxygen
to survive. This can cause your kidneys, lungs and liver to shut down and stop working.”

Reasoning: The evidence I chose supports my answer because it tells us how the virus affects our lungs
and its complications which is the deprivation of oxygen to essential organs like liver, kidney and lungs.
