1. Educating the mind without educating the heart  is no education at all. 

2. The highest goal of education is union with God. 
3. Education is not supposed to change society but should preserve it. 
4.  The goal of education is to create a better society. Curriculum therefore should
highlight social reform.

Part II Answer the following  questions exhaustively.  50 pts. 

1. What takes place  in the school as a formal educational setting does not occur  in
a cultural vacuum. The world outside of the school determines to a large extent
how successfeul and useful or on the contrary how useless and futile the efforts
that you exert and the learning that go with it.  Question :Cite  two examples of
situations outside your school(which are of cultural nature) and how this has
impacted(positively/negatively) your teaching efforts and the learning of your
students. 10 pts.
2. Examine the role of parents  in the delivery of instruction  (among public school
pupils/ or private school  students, if you work in a private school) during this
pandemic . Write a commentary on this. . 10 pts
3. Using the knowledge  about the major philosophie  we discussed in class,
formulate /develop a new educational paradigm(philosophy) that you believe will
address the  present needs  and concerns of the Philippine  society. how would
you call that philosophy? What are its components? Focus only  on six areas listed
below  5pts.  per area or 30 pts.

      1.  After a semester's work on the major philosophies of education do you think it is
important for a doctoral student like you  to take this course.? Discuss.
      2. Comment on the scope of the course and methods  employed in the course. You
may give personal insights.
