Title: Four Ways to Stay Happy, Healthy as an Online Pupil.

“Wake up! It’s time to go to school! Wake up this instant, Seri!” “I am wide
awake, Mom! Oh! Can’t we just stay at home and still study?? How I wish!” Now, I
am living my dream- I am STUDYING ONLINE FROM HOME!

Assalamualaikum and good day everyone! I am _______________ and today

I am going to share four ways to stay happy and healthy as an online pupil. Studying
from home – ONLINE- will require stronger willpower than usual to stay focused. To
make this difficult adjustment a bit more manageable, here are some tips to stay
happy and healthy while studying at home for us – ONLINE pupils.

First, remember to eat well and sleep well. Never underestimate the power
of healthy eating and adequate sleep. For us pupils to stay focused during online
classes, really, an empty stomach and barely open eyes are our worst enemies ever.
Why?

Empty tummy, empty head - If the brain is not supplied with sufficient
nutrients, then its entire development is affected. The ability to learn is therefore
compromised. And at the end of the day, a successful online lesson is endangered.
Therefore, make sure to select healthy snacks when you study, and prepare lunches
that will not put you to sleep afterwards. Having at least 7-8 hours of sleep at night is
the best way to help you wake up feeling refreshed and ready to start your study
during the day. Trust me – we can study better by eating and sleeping well. And do
not forget to drink enough plain water!

Secondly, it is also essential to have a dedicated study area. I believe that

every pupil is unique in their own ways. While some find it necessary to have
complete silence where others can study just fine with a bit of ambient noise. I
personally prefer the latter. One of the most important reasons for having a
dedicated area for study is that it sharpens the mind and improves concentration.
Well, we do not want our crying baby brother to come to us during a GoogleMeet
session, do we?

A separate study area is better than using a bedroom, a kitchen or a living

room. Naturally, not everybody has the luxury of having a spare room to set up a
study space at home. But we can work within the dimensions of our home to create a
study area perhaps within a bedroom, in a living room, or just about anywhere that
we have a reasonable amount of space to spare. We can also decorate the study
space with things that induce happiness. Personally, I believe that having some
potted plants, photos of loved ones, artwork and other relaxing decorative elements
can make our online classes more enjoyable.

Thirdly, establish a routine. What routine? Well, treat your study from home
as if you are going to school. Set a time to wake up, freshen up, eat breakfast, and
get dressed. Having an established routine can provide structure for your life and
signal your brain “it is time to get work done”. Do not get me wrong, you do not need
to recreate your entire at-school day in order to be a good pupil while studying from
home.

While having a clear but flexible structure for your at-home school days is
important, it’s also crucial to adjust your expectations for what you can get done
while studying independently in a day. In other words, you can’t really replicate your
at-school days while studying from home. This is because so many things about the
circumstances are different. Nevertheless, it is hoped that by establishing the routine
we will be better prepared to have our online lessons on that day.

Finally, get up and move about! Are you tired of sitting through GoogleMeet
classes and staring at your screen all day? I know I am! The beauty of virtual classes
is that you often have the flexibility to move around that you don’t always get in a
traditional classroom setting. Next online class we have, let us try out some of these
ways to stay active! You can stretch, do a set of jumping jacks, walk around the
room, and take a look at the view outside the window.

It is also crucial for us to keep a routine for physical activity. Set break times
for your study session for example every 40 minutes to get up, move around, and
activate different parts of your brain. Most these can be done without anyone even
knowing, and you will quickly see the results! Remember, anything is better than
nothing. Even if you make a pact to do five squats before and after every class, that
is awesome!

As a conclusion, do not let the online platform get you down - this is what we
have to deal with at the moment and we are going to make the best of it! Let us try
these four ways to stay healthy and happy as an online pupil. Hopefully these will
help us to go through this online learning effectively and successfully. Happy online
studying! That is all from me, thank you!
