Industrial Automation
Exercise # 4
Basic Pneumatic Circuit: Signal Overlap
Objectives
1. Familiarize the different pneumatic components and its functions.
2. Draw the function diagram of the given sequence.
3. Design a pneumatic circuit and label the components.
4. Identify the pneumatic components needed to operate the system
5. Resolve the conflict between the overlapping signals using cascade chain (3 groups).
6. Simulate the system using the pneumatics module.

Sequence
a) A+ A- B+ B- (single cycle)
b) A+ A- B+ B- (continuous cycle)
c) A+ A- B+ B- (single and continuous cycle)
d) A+ A- B+ B- (continuous cycle with emergency stop)
e) A+ A- B+ B- (single and continuous cycle with emergency stop)
