Introduction
The technical availability of the time and place has always been related to
interaction and individual stimulation. Computers and transactions have changed from
manual transactions as the world has become more information based. Dormitories
were built at New Era University to reduce students' travel time to classes, especially for
those who live in the provinces, and to provide students with a safe and comfortable
place to live on campus. This study looks into the possibility of changing the NEU Men
and Ladies' Dorm reservation system from manual to online. The study will focus on the
effects of manual reservations and the importance of switching to a computerized
system. As a result, the proponents sought to learn how to make online reservations
more convenient for incoming students. The proposed system is aimed at incoming
freshmen, who would be able to take a picture, ask questions, and make reservations
with the dormitory using computers and internet connections at their respective homes
and provinces.
New Era’s Dormitory is one of the nearest dormitories in New Era University and
this building has been built last January 16, 2004 the owner is brother Edwin
Manansala. This building contains 28 rooms and each room have 12 beds and every
floor there is 3 main bathrooms that includes one washing area, 3 floors and 1 roof deck
which you can dry your clothes. The issue of this dormitory is misinformation of boarder
when identifying payments and info’s. Although it gives sustainable dormitory services
for boarder and provides better control of dormitory materials still, we implement this
system for better services from the owner.

Objectives
The web-based Dormitory System will start with the deliverables established in
the work breakdown structure of the project using MS Project 2007 (WBS). The
particular work packages that must be completed to complete each objective will be

stated in the activity specification. Sequencing of activities is used to define the order of
work packages and to assign connections between project tasks. The calculation of the
number of work periods needed to finish the work packages shall be done using an
activity duration estimation. Resource assessment is used for allocating resources to
work packages to finish the creation of the timetable. After a preliminary schedule has
already been prepared, the team members and all resources assigned to project tasks
will be tentatively evaluated. The suggested work package assignments, duration and
timetable shall be agreed by project team and resources. Once this is done, the person
in charge will evaluate and approve the timetable and then be on the basis.
Milestone List
Provide a summary list of milestones including dates for each milestone. Include
an introductory paragraph in this section which provides some insight to the major
milestones. This section should also mention or discuss actions taken if any changes to
the milestones or delivery dates are required.

Throughout the project, the Project Manager will manage and report on the cost
of the project. During the monthly project status meeting, the Project Manager will
present and review the costs of the project. The Project Manager is responsible for
calculating costs and providing to the Project Sponsor the options for returning the
project on budget using earned value estimates. The sponsor of the web-based
Dormitory reservation system will support all budget authority and decisions to
incorporate budgetary modifications.
Control account will be created at the fourth level of the WBS in the web-based
dormitory reservation system, which is the location for the management and monitoring
of all costs and performance. The project will measure financial performance of the
web-based reservation dormitory system scheme through the computation of the
earned value for the cost account of the project. Work on working packages will award
the 50 percent credit to that work package; but the other 50 percent will be credited
when all work described in that work package is concluded. Costs can be rounded to
the next dollar and hours of labor rounded off to the next entire hour.

The Project Manager shall report to the Project Sponsor on a monthly basis on
the cost and schedule performance index (CPI and SPI, respectively). The cost and
scheduled index fluctuations of 10% or +/- 0.1 will alter the cost status to yellow and
cautionary. They are reported and there may be no action necessary if it is assessed
that there is no or a limited impact on the cost or schedule of the project. Cost variations
of 20%, or +/- 0.2 in performance index costs and schedules will alter the status of cost
to red or critical. These will be reported and the project manager will need remedial
actions in order to reconcile the performance indexes of costs and/or schedule with the
permissible variance. Any corrective actions will require a request for project
modification and must be approved by the CCB prior to implementation.
The Project Manager compiles and reports the calculations of the earned value
at the monthly status meeting of the project. In the event that signs are made that these
values are approaching or reaching the critical stage before a future meeting, the
Project Manager will immediately inform the Project Sponsor. Before the base is
finished, the project sponsor will engage in review of the planning proposed and
approve the final planning.
The project participants are participating in and assisting in validation of the suggested
timetable.

The quality management team will play a role for all members of the Web-based
Dormitory Reservation System project team. The team must ensure that work from
individual work packages to a final project deliverable is done at an adequate level of
quality. The quality roles and responsibilities of the Web-based Dormitory Reservation
System Project are as follows: The project sponsor shall approve all quality standards
for the Web-based Dormitory Reservation System Project. To ensure compliance with
established and approved quality standards, the Project Sponsor shall review all project
tasks and results. Furthermore, the Project Sponsor signs off the project's final
acceptance. During the entire project period, the project manager is responsible for
quality management.
The project manager also communicates and tracks to the project team and
stakeholders all quality standards. The Quality Specialists are responsible for
developing and implementing the Quality Management Plan with the Project Manager.
Quality experts will recommend quality monitoring tools and methodologies and
standards to achieve acceptable levels of quality.
Throughout the project quality control and safety logs will be developed and
maintained by the specialists. The rest of the project team and stakeholders will assist
the project manager and quality specialists in setting acceptable quality standards. They
will also ensure that all standards of quality are met and communicate to the project
manager any qualitative concerns.

Objectives
The method of reserving a spot in a dormitory creates a challenging situation
because it takes longer to complete from beginning to end, including the queue of
reservation and payment. In the event that difficulties arise during the reservation,
students from distant areas will have difficulty finding a place to stay. General
Objectives The project is intended to make it easier for NEU Dormitories to transact with
their students and to encourage a more efficient way to reserve rooms by developing a
new system. Specific Objectives 1. To reduce the amount of time and effort needed.
Spending less time in updating the room availability.
these issues. The subject of the study is New Era Ladies Dorm and New Era Men’s
Dorm located at Central Ave, New Era, Quezon City. This study limits its coverage to
the incoming first-year students at New Era University. It's for their online reservation
with the NEU Dormitory to be as simple as possible.
