density, resistivity, the magnetic field, Biot-Savart law and its applications, Ampere's law,
Faradays Law of electromagnetic induction, Lenz's Law, Self-induction, Mutual induction,
Maxwell’s equation.

Modern Physics
Galilean relativity and Einstein's special theory of relativity; Lorentz transformation equations,
Length contraction, Time dilation and mass-energy relation, photoelectric effect, Compton
effect; Nuclear binding energy, different types of radioactivity, radioactive decay law; Nuclear
reactions, nuclear fission, nuclear fusion.

Structure of Matter
Crystalline and non-crystalline solids, Single crystal and polycrystal solids, Unit cell, Crystal
systems, Co-ordination number, Crystal planes and directions, Packing factor, Miller indices,
Defects in solids, Inter-atomic distances and bonding energy, band theory in solids.
