Polycystic is a health problem caused by imbalance of reproduction hormones, it creates

with polycystic ovary syndrome have excess insulin resistance and also Luteinizing hormones

that is made in the pituitary gland and it’s been located in the brain. We also have the hereditary

factors polycystic diseases are not inherited from parents but seen in some and the weight is

being determined (Norman, 2018).

Q2. Signs and symptoms

The signs may develop at early or late stages thus leads to substantial weight gain, in

other case it is caused by prolonged menstrual periods and other time’s excess androgen levels

(Azziz, 2016). Ovaries have collection of fluids called follicles that may lead to fail of egg

release and ovaries may also fails to function (Norman, 2018).

Q3. Body normal function and psychology relative to the disease

A patient suffering from polycystic ovary syndrome have problem with hormonal

imbalance compare with a normal person with regular menstrual periods (Azziz, 2016). It’s

reported that women with regular ovulatory cycles does not commonly predispose the

development of polycystic ovary syndrome compare with those one going through the problem

(Norman, 2018).

Q4. Tests to complete during diagnoses and length of time to obtain result

Always the doctor recommends some test to be done example the pelvic exam this is

normally done to inspect the reproductive organs for growth and abnormalities (Azziz, 2016).
NURSING 3

Blood test is being analyzed to measure the hormone level; the testing includes menstrual

abnormalities or the androgen excess. Also ultrasound is needed to check the appearance of your

ovaries and the thickness of the lining of the uterus (Norman, 2018).

The polycystic ovary syndrome treatment is very important that include birth control pills

to regularize periods, and the medication to prevent diabetes, statins to control high cholesterol,

hormones to increase fertility and to remove excess hair (Azziz, 2016). The prognosis that has to
