Pre-programme Information Webinar: Negotiation Strategies for Success

As I participate at the webinar, the program discussed about negotiating with others and
how will you improve or enhance your skills in negotiation. Francesco Mancini the Vice Dean of
Lee Kuan Yew School of Public Policy, discuss what are the importance of negotiation as we all
know negotiation applies in our daily life and also in different context, there will be always a
negotiation in our surroundings, this is also an essential to have this skill. I also believe to Mancini,
that negotiation can be develop and learn because everything we want can easily improve if you
really want to enhance it. As he discusses the non-verbal communication, I do believe that reading
body language is really important with negotiation because you can easily determine if they are
really interested. As a Foreign Service student, learning about negotiation is important because we
will encounter more people in our future career and having great negotiating with others will
always have a good deal and avoid conflict, but learning and enhancing negotiation skills you will
also know how to heal a damaged deal or misunderstanding, you will learn to compromise and this
is the important trait being Foreign Service student. Also learning great negotiation, you will
consider the cultures of other which lead to good negotiation because you understand them right
away. Though, the webinar last only for one hour they manage to give the information that can be
added to our knowledge, this is a big opportunity to attend at this kind of webinar because you can
expand your knowledge because those professionals can give you the fact about negotiation.
