An analytical study of export performance of Minerals

and Metals Trading Corporation Ltd. (MMTC) in the globalised era. International

Corporation (MMTC) Ltd. was incorporated in the year 1963 by the Government of
India, primarily with an objective to regulate the International trade of minerals
and metals. Today, MMTC is India's largest International Trading Company having a
strong nationwide trading network offering a large and wide range of products and
services. In this paper, an attempt has been made to analyze the export performance
of the corporation in the light of the export related objectives for which it was
formed. The present paper looks into the functioning of MMTC particularly in the
context of its export performance in the LPG regime. The study period is of 18
years (from 1991-92 to 2008-09) of the LPG regime.
