What you learned: I learned about the various types of apps that Google offers in addition to the
well-known ones like powerpoint and docs. I was taught how to use Google Forms and even
created a form that was a survey for an election. Also, I was able to create questions with options
for people to choose from, as well as include some images to make the question appear more
appealing and interesting to answer, and, of course, let people see who their candidates are. I
learned how to use the preview icon to see how my database will appear to users and whether or
not the database form is functional. Finally, I learned how to use Google Spreadsheet to record
all of the form responses.
ISTE National Educational Technology Standards for STUDENTS (NETS)•S Addressed:
Standard #5 Computational Thinker: Students develop and employ strategies for understanding
and solving problems in ways that leverage the power of technological methods to develop and
test solutions.
Application of Skills Learned for the Future: I learned how to use Google Forms and Google
Spreadsheets, which will be useful when teaching. I can easily get results from Google Forms,
such as whether or not students want pizza for the party or whether or not they will be attending
class later on. Google Spreadsheet makes entering numbers and calculations more organized, and
it performs the calculations for you without requiring you to hassle, struggle, or take a long time.
