Law Paper (I) :
Code of Civil Procedure, 1908, The Constitution of India, Indian Contract Act, 1872, The Indian Evidence
Act, 1872, The Limitation Act, 1963, The Specific Relief Act, 1963, The Transfer of Property Act, 1882,
Interpretation of Statues, The Rajasthan Rent Control Act, 2001, Order/Judgement Writing.

Law Paper (II) :

The Code of Criminal Procedure, 1973, The Indian Evidence Act, 1872, The Indian Penal Code, 1860, The
Juvenile Justice (Care and Protection of Children) Act, 2015, The Negotiable Instruments Act, 1881
(Chapter XVII), The Probation of Offenders Act, 1958, Protection of Women from Domestic Violence Act,
2005, Framing of Charge/Judgement Writing.

Language :
(a) Paper-I Hindi Essay
Essay Writing in Hindi Language.

(b) Paper-II English Essay

Essay Writing in English Language.

III. Interview :-
In Interviewing a candidate, the suitability for employment to the service shall be tested with reference to
his record at the school, College and University, and his character, personality, address and physique.
The questions, which may be put to him, may be of a general nature and will not necessarily be academic
or legal. The candidate will also be put questions to test his general knowledge including knowledge of
current affairs and present-day problems. Marks shall also be awarded for the candidate's proficiency in
the Rajasthani dialects and his knowledge of social customs of Rajasthan. The marks so awarded shall be
added to the marks obtained in the written test by each candidate.

LIST OF CANDIDATES
After interview, a list of the candidates shall be prepared in the order of their performance on the basic of
their aggregate marks. If two or more of such candidates obtain equal marks in the aggregate, they shall
be arranged in the order of merit on the basis of their general suitability for service and their names shall
be recommended for appointment accordingly:
Provided that a candidate of Scheduled Castes or Scheduled Tribes category shall not be recommended
for appointment unless he obtains minimum 35% marks in the aggregate of written examination and the
interview, and, in the case of other candidates, unless he obtained minimum 40% marks in the aggregate
of written examination and the interview;
NOTE
The general suitability for service of the candidates securing equal aggregate marks in Main Examination
and Interview shall firstly by determined on the basis of higher marks obtained in the Interview the merit
shall be determined having regard to age i.e. the candidate, order in age shall be given higher place in
merit.

The process of selection shall comprise of,
a) For the purpose of short-listing the candidates, the High Court will conduct Screening Test
(Computer Based Test) for 100 marks comprising of 100 multiple choice objective type
Questions. The duration of examination will be two (2) hours. The Venue and Time will be
mentioned in the Hall Ticket to be downloaded by the applicant at appropriate point of time.
The candidates who secure 40% and above marks in the screening test will be shot listed in the
ratio of 1:10 of the available vacancies, for written examination.
The marks obtained in the screening test shall not be added to the marks obtained in the written
examination and they shall not be counted for determining final order of merit of the candidates,
as the screening test is conducted for the purpose of short listing the candidates.

b) Written Examination consisting of the following three (3) papers will be held. (The object of
written examination is to test the academic knowledge of the candidates.
i) Civil Law
ii) Criminal Law and
iii) English Translation test for 30 marks and Essay writing test for 70 marks. (Translation has to
be made from English language to Hindi or Telgu language only and essay writing test will be on
legal subject only).

Each paper shall carry 100 marks. The duration of each paper is three (3) hours.

VI. Minimum Marks to be secured in the Written Examination to qualify for Viva-Voce :
a) Under Direct Recruitment :
The candidates applying under Direct Recruitment who belong to OC category must secure not
less than 60% of marks in aggregate in the written examination to become eligible for Viva-Voce.
The candidates belonging to Backward Class category under Direct Recruitment must secure
not less than 50% marks in each paper and not less than 55% of marks in aggregate in the written
examination for calling for Viva-Voce.
The candidates belonging to Scheduled Castes ad Scheduled Tribes category must secure not
less than 45% marks in each paper and not less than 50% of marks in aggregate in the written
examination for calling for Viva-Voce.

b) Under Recruitment by Transfer :

The candidate belonging to OC and BC categories applying under Recruitment by Transfer must
secure not less than 55% marks in each paper and not less than 60% marks in aggregate in the
written examination to become eligible for Viva-Voce.
The candidates belonging to scheduled caste and scheduled Tribe categories applying under
Recruitment by Transfer must secure not less than 45% marks in each paper and not less than
50% marks in aggregate in the written examination to qualify for Viva-Voce.

 Viva-Voce
Viva-Voce, shall carry 50 marks. Any candidate who remains absent for the Viva-Voce for the
post of Civil Judge (Junior Division) shall be deemed to have been disqualified for selection. (The
object of Viva-Voce is to assess the suitability of the candidate for the cadre by judging the
mental alertness, knowledge, skills, attitude, ethics, power of assimilation, power of
communication, character and intellectual depth and the like of the candidate.)
Minimum aggregate Marks to be secured in the written Examination and Viva-Voce for selection
to the post of Civil Judge (Junior Division) :
For selection to the post of Civil Judge (Junior Division) under Direct Recruitment and
Recruitment by Transfer, the OC/BC category candidates must secure at least 60% marks in
aggregate in written Examination and Viva-Voce and SC/ST category candidates must secure at
least 50% marks in aggregate in written examination and Viva-Voce. (Candidates who secure
less than the said percentage will become ineligible for selection to the post.
The Questions in the examinations shall be answered only in English (except translation test)
In the selection process (Screening Test, Written Examination and Viva-Voce), the proficiency
and knowledge of applicants will be tested in the following :-
