Exam 2 = 55 points is 30%
F – 120 and below

Purpose: Attendance – though I understand that things happen over a course of a year, but
students need to be in school. Their voices cannot be heard in the classroom if they are not
there. So, If students only miss school for the 10 days they are allow to miss, they will get a 20
points. However, each time after 10 days missed without medical excuse, students will be
docked a point for every 2 additional days they are not in class.

Homework checks – I do not grade base on content, but in completion and whether I can
decipher whether they tried to do their homework or not. If students do not do their
homework, they will receive a x for each time they do not do their homework. However, when
students have questions that cannot be answered over email, they can bring the homework in
incomplete before class to try and figure the answer out, or any time that works best for them
to meet. These homework checks are to just to see if students are staying on task with the
workload of the class. Relatively the homework will be easy, so students will not have to stress.

Exam 1 and Exam 2 are the midterm and final exam for this course. The students will be tested
to see how well they have retained the information covered in class. Students exam will look
like half multiple choice, and then the other half is short answer and short essay format.
Multiple Choice will be 25 points and Essay will be 30 points. Essays are weighted a little more,
because I want to make sure the students are writing at the best of their abilities and
meaningful. However, if students do not fulfill directions for essay, students will be docked at
the most 5 points for each section.
Essay – The essay is for students to have the opportunity to write passionately about the topic
at hand. They will be ask before they come to write the essay in class to outline the prompt to
best support their arguments. Though not required, but I offer this option to guide the students
on the path of success. Plus, great writing comes from great preparation. If the students truly
want to do great on the essay, they will take the day or week before the exam to brainstorm
the major topics/issues that they want to address.
