While previous research has shown
that sleep enhances memory, this study is to address errors in memory.The groups in the study were exposed to lists of word at different time of the day.After 12 hours,they tried to identify these words correctly . Before the test, one group had no sleep and chose the words in the evening while the others had their test in the morning. Via 3 experiments, students sleeping were likely to remember correctly than the others. This may be due to ability of sleep,which is to boost the source of the memory. It means the people who didn’t sleep during the study were simply bombarded with information, affecting their memory ability, Fenn said. Other research has shown us that the elderly ’s memories are more likely to be falsified, and sleep may help to remove false information.
