Praxis Core Exam Analysis Paper

Exam Requirements

The Praxis Core Exam is essential because it measures my knowledge and skills for

becoming a future teacher. To transfer to Nevada State College for spring semester 2022, I must

pass the Praxis Core Exam. To counite my journey in achieving a bachelor’s degree in

Elementary Education, I must pass all three sections of the Praxis Core Exam with passing

scores. The three sections are Math, Reading, and Writing. The passing score for Math is 150,

Reading is 156, and for Writing is 162.

Exam Preparation

I did very little preparation for the practice Praxis Core Exam and didn’t do much as I

should’ve. My preparation consisted of clicking through some of the links provided, skimmed

through websites, and overall didn’t put as much effort as I should’ve. If I had put more effort

into reviewing and studying before taking the practice test, my scores would’ve been different.

These practice tests were a perfect opportunity for me to determine what areas needed more

work. I now realize how important it is to prepare for these tests.

Exam Results

My results for the practice test weren’t the best scores I would have liked. In Math, I

scored a 52%, meaning I need significant improvement. In Reading, I scored a 30%, meaning I

need significant improvement. In Writing, I scored a 45%, meaning I need significant

improvement. All three scores show that I would fail if I were to take the actual Praxis Core

Exam. For me to pass the real exam, I need to prepare and study hard. These test scores do not

reflect where I should be but reflect what needs to be done.

Future Exam Preparation

The results I received on the practice tests were a wake-up call for me. These results

showed me how I couldn’t just take a glance and expect to do good when studying wasn’t even

done. I won’t be going to Nevada State College until next spring semester of 2022, which gives

me the whole fall semester of 2021 to study for the Praxis Core Exam. I plan to get help from

NSC to help me prepare, using the free online resources, and use a tutor if needed. I find it

frustrating learning through a computer or working alone for the most part. Therefore, I am

looking forward to going to NSC to get the help necessary and finding ways to join a study

group. I am looking forward to what the future holds for me when taking the actual Praxis Core

Exam.
