AUTO CAD
2D= Two dimensional= x,y / y,z / z,x (i.e. a horizontal and a vertical Axis)(eg. A PLAIN PAPER).
Designing? (Human)
Drafting? (Pictures)
It’s a 2-D Representation of an existing design in different Orthographic and Isometric views.
An organisation named AUTODESK developed the CAD software into a GUI (Graphic User Interface),
and introduced to the world in the year 1998 with a name Known as AutoCAD.
Auto CAD is a Designing and drafting application software. Since it is the product of AUTODESK it is
named after the organisation as AutoCAD. The version of AutoCAD started from 2000 to till date.
This software was introduced into the market with a version named as AutoCAD 2000 in 1998.
Electricity.
Sitting idle at one place constantly during work.
Origin: It is the point where the horizontal and the vertical axes bisect each other. In AutoCAD it is a
predefined fixed location with the value denoted as (0, 0) (like in a graph sheet and AutoCAD screen
is an electronic endless graph sheet).
There are basically two types of co-ordinate system (CYS). They are
Cartesian CYS: In this CYS we locate a point along horizontal and vertical directions. This CYS is
further classified into two types in AutoCAD. They are
Absolute CYS: In this CYS we define /locate every point with respect to a pre defined point
known as ORIGIN(0,0), this point is also known as absolute zero since we define every point
with respect to absolute zero (i.e. origin) along horizontal and vertical direction we also call
this type of CYS as Absolute CYS. Here we define a point with a format of
P= x,y
Relative rectangular CYS: In this CYS we define a point location with respect to a temporary
origin point which is a recently defined point or clicked point on screen (Which means that
the origin keeps shifted) along horizontal and vertical direction. Here we define a point with
a format of P= @x,y
Polar CYS: In this CYS we locate a point at a distance/length and an angle. This CYS is
further classified into two types in AutoCAD. They are
Absolute Polar CYS: In this CYS we define /locate every point with respect to a pre defined
point known as ORIGIN(0,0), this point is also known as absolute zero since we define every
point with respect to absolute zero (i.e. origin) at a distance and angle we also call this type
of CYS as Absolute Polar CYS. Here we define a point with a format of
P=distance<angle
Relative Polar CYS: In this CYS we define a point location with respect to a temporary origin
point which is a recently defined point or clicked point on screen (Which means that the
origin keeps shifted) at a distance and an angle. Here we define a point with a format of
P=@ distance<angle
POINT (PO): By using this option a location displayed on the screen by a dot.
POINT STYLE (DDPTYPE): Using this option we can change the point styles available on screen.
ERASE (E): This option is used to delete or erase one or more than one geometry on the screen.
ORTHO MODE:
OSNAP SETTINGS:
There are two ways to interact with AutoCAD GUI. By command prompt wise and the other is by
menu screen options (icons).
