This warranty is limited to replacing or repairing at its shops any part or parts which have been returned to the Aircraft . Engine Division with transportation charges prepaid, and which, in its opinion, are defective. This warranty is expressly in lieu of all other warranties or repre- sentations, expressed or implied, and all other liabilities on the part of Continental Motors Corporation. : ‘This warranty does not cover any labor charges for replacement of parts, adjust- ments, repair or any other work done on Continental Aircraft engines or parts. ‘This warranty shall not apply to any engine or part which shall have been re- Paired or altered outside of our factory in any way 60 as, in our judgment, to affect {ta operation, or which has been subject to misuse, negligence or accident, or which shall have been operated at a speed exceeding the “factory rated spec ~ ‘The Aircraft Engine Division of Continental Motors Corporation will warrant each ~ new accessory furnished by it to be free from defects in material and workmanship for ninety (90) days or fifty (50) hours of operation after original installation in an aircraft. Since many of these accessories are procurable from other sources, this clause applies only to accessories purchased on engines or as spare parts from Continental Motors Corporation. ‘The Aircraft Engine Division of Continental Motors Corporation reserves the right to change engine or parts specifications or prices without incurring any responsibility with regard to engines or parts previously sold or replaced. SCOPE. 1-2. Material in this publication is applicable to model 0-470 aircraft engines. Abrief explanation of con= struction features and functional systems 1s included. ‘This information 1s supplemented by the Limits and Lubrication Chart, which is composed of sectional drawings printed on the final pages. Tables of ‘specifications, performance characteristics and oper- ation limitations and performance charts are included {in Section II. Dimensional specifications in the Table of Limits govern the permissible tight {its of ‘“per- ‘manently"” assembled parts and clearances of running parts as a guide for the determination of service ability at overhaul. Other sections are devoted to ingtructions for operation, inspection, routine mainte- nance, trouble shooting and overhaul procedure. Descriptive text, specifications and part numbers mentioned herein are correct as of the date of publi- cation; however, changes may be made in specifi- cations and/or part numbers. Therefore, all replace- ‘ment parts should be ordered in accordance with in- formation contained in the Spare Parts Catalog, Form F-O81, and operation limitations herein should not be construed to authorize any departure from limits published in the applicable C.A.A. Type Specification. If more detailed information ts necessary concerning ‘any of the purchased accessories listed in Table I, it 1s requested that inguiries for such be made of the mantfacturer or agency whose name and address 1s Usted immediately behind the accessory in Table I. 1-3. AVAILABILITY. 1-4. Important changes in part numbers, interchange- ability of parts, urgent inspections, mandatory 1 placements and modernization information are among the subjects of limited interest and duration covered by factory Service Bulletins, which are distributed to all Approved Distributors of aircraft engines and parts and are available for study at their office Service Bulletins of interest to aircraft owners, ‘operators and maintenance personnel may be obtained by direct mail on an annual subscription basis. The charge for this service covers only postage and handling. Subscriptions are received by the factory Service Manager, to whom inquiries on this subject, may be addressed. 1-7, SERVICE REPORTS AND INQUIRIES. 1-8, It is the policy of Continental Motors Corporation, to handle all reports of service difficulty and re- quests for information through Approved Distributor: ‘These agencies are constantly in touch with operation and repair. You will find them more than willing to help solve your maintenance problems and well equipped with experience and facilities toperform any necessary maintenance work on Continental aircraft engines.
